I'm making it official. This blog has finally reached it's due date for a good closure. It has been a great few years and there were many memories both happy and sad. But that doesn't mean I'm gng to stop blogging. I have started my new blog but i'm not gng to put the link here. For those who wants my new link, you can come ask me. If not, thank you for being my reader.
I watched Devil Wears Prada last night and I loved it! It's a fairly simple storyline, and quite typical in fact.
Nerd girl wants to pursue journalism, needed that big break, joined biggest Fashion magazine in USA, became assistant of some really ATAS female Fashionista/power woman boss, did badly, learnt and excel fabulously, had a great makeover, moved up the ladder, neglected family and friends, lost bf, met new handsome cool man, only to realise this job was not meant for her and she didn't want to pursue it anymore. Quit in a most gungho way and pursue the dream job she wanted, but of course with the help of her ex boss.
No doubt the story is inspirational, in terms of working hard to make a good impression, work hard to do a good job. But the best part of the show was the fashion. The attires and the styles are amazing!!!!!! It's like a Vogue magazine in a movie. The every detail in accessories, style, coats, etc... matches amazingly. But somehow I feel, you can only find this in the States and Europe. I seriously doubt this will happen in Singapore. I dunno if our fashion mags actually have people dress smartly and fashionably to work every day. Will they be in their heels everyday?
Anyway, I love the show. I'm inspired to actually want to dress like her but of course work like her to impress the bosses. Of course, I would want to balance family, friends and relationship too.
