a good deed a day... will indeed pay off some way.. some how.

Makes a Grey Day looks Bright!

What comes around, goes around
He almost didn't see the old lady, stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her.

Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so .. was he going to hurt her? He didn't look safe; he looked poor and hungry.

He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was that chill which only fear can put in you.

He said, "I'm here to help you, ma'am. Why don't you wait in the car where it's warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson."

Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire. But he had to get dirty and his hands hurt.

As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn't thank him enough for coming to her aid.

Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped. Bryan never thought twice about being paid. This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way.

He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added, "And think of me."

He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight.

A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gas pumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair. she had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn't erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight months pregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Bryan.

After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar bill, but the old lady had slipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something written on the napkin. There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: "You don't owe me anything. I have been there too. Somebody once helped me out, the way I'm helping you. If you really want to pay me back, here is what you do: Do not let this chain of love end with you."

Under the napkin were four more $100 bills.

Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it through another day. That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard..

She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, "Everything's gonna be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson."

There is an old saying "What goes around comes around." Today, I sent you this story, and I'm asking you to pass it on ... Let this light shine.

an email from HOME

I am Ong Ah Bee living in Kampong Chai Chee
Life used to be simple and HAPPY
I worked hard in my STUDIES
I learned A-B-C, and everything from 1, 2, and 3.
Primary school was quite easy
I passed PSLE

Then I went to SECONDARY
The subjects include HISTORY, GEOGRAPHY
Physics, Biology and CHEMISTRY
After O levels I went to JC
I was quite LUCKY

This is a small humid tropical COUNTRY
Surrounded by unknown potential ENEMIES
Boys turned 18 must go to ARMY
After that we may continue our Studies
The girls can just sit back, relax, and watch TV
They come to this world only to "Chia Liao Bi"

No one lives on free meals or depends on CHARITY
I had no money to go to University or Poly
So I went to work at a FACTORY
Trying to earn a little lousy SALARY
After CPF and INCOME TAX,
I have just enough money to buy ROTI and ride in MRT.

My bosses show me no SYMPATHY
Mumbling over my shoulder daily : "HURRY, HURRY and HURRY !"
Accusing me of always trying to get MC
But my sickness was due to over stretch OT
Going home after midnight by TAXI
And they pay me only bus fee

I Park-Tor and became STEADY
Finally had to MARRY
I lost money holding Wedding Dinner PARTY
Cheeky friends donating only cheap PANTY
After marriage, nothing was EASY

In one year, I became DADDY
I can't support my family and our BABY
Being tied down for life to repay HDB
and rising monthly utilities to PUB

My bank account has NO MONEY
POSB balance is almost EMPTY
DBS wants to charge me EXTRA FEE
Insisting that "Nothing is FREE!"
So I moonlight as KARANG GUNI

Many times I want to jump into the sea to MATI
But that is not EASY
My wife cries: "Who is going to support me and our BABY?"
So I can't MATI .

I went to seek assistance from the MP
His reply was simple and easy:
"Vote for me, vote for me, vote for me".
He never tell me any convincing Policy.
My dear friends, can you pls help Ong Ah Bee ?

finally i got my butt off and joined the monash gym. I got the 6 months membership, i vow to go gym every alternative day, and to do work outs on my different body muscles. Like I'll run and do hand weights one day, and another day i'll emphasise more on my leg muscles and toning, another day would be hand weights and ab workouts. I hope i can still remember what the instructor from california fitness told me. Too bad monash doesn't have inner thigh workouts, that's like the best to shape the inner thigh. Hai... i so want to have model legs, can wear any type of jeans/pants/skirts.

Anyway.... i get to use caufield, gippsland, penisula gym for free too.. hahah not bad ah.

Okie... what have i done this whole week.....? Hmm... I think i was tryin really hard to study brand management, kept reading the chapters, coz i havent been doing my readins. The lecturer said memorising terms wont help us pass.... so... i was wondering... shit man... means must understand the concept really well, which i think is tougher. I havent really started on strategic issues, coz its like HUH? Its a very different case study from the one I'd been doing every week. Shld it be an analysis on Quaker Oats or Snapple?? I did some minor research on People Skills. I hope to formulate my notes by this week, so afer my brand management paper, I can concentrate structuring my whole essay for my Friday (last) paper.

I have been trying to sleep early and wake up early... but the stupid weather is so...cold and nice to stay in bed!!!! I hope gng gym would be something that will entice me to wake up early. Go gym then study... u think that will work???

Okie..... more updates later... time to bath... and eat more left over food!

tom is my last day of school for semester one! Damn fast man! I managed to finish reading all the required chapters for my test tom, but honestly barely half of what i've read is in my small brain. It's so difficult to concentrate becoz its just too cold outside! It 'sounds' so cold... looks like winter is HERE! sigh........

Im still sick.. but feeling a bit betterl. I've been downing myself with loads of water.. bottle after bottle. I feel like a walking water barrel. Ha!

Got to start preparing for exams already, everyone seems to be starting their revision, except me. Ha! slacker as usual! I'll start soon.... i promise!

Talked to my mother yesterday, and she told me a sad story of this secondary one boy from my bro's school who passed away just last week. It was one of those school days where this boy had to stay back for ECA (NPCC), but he went home for awhile coz he had a tummy ache (he stayed near the school, walking distance). When he was home, the teacher in charge called and told the mum if the boy could go back to school again, but if he really cannot leave home then its okay. But the boy decided to go back to school, but obviously he was rushing so he decided to take the bus to school. He alighted and decided to cross the road from the front of the bus. But as he was crossing the road, a lorry came and knock him down. He had no external injuries, but according to my mum his leg was bent in a way that his knee was on his head. The boy suffered from internal bleeding, and when the ambulence came, they couldn't revive him and he dies on site.

The school principal rushed to the scene, so did the teacher-in-charge. They contacted the boy's mother (whom he met not too long ago), and she didn't believe them. Last week was the funeral, and the whole school was there to pay their last respects. The mother blamed the teacher for her son's death, the teacher blamed herself as well.

This boy has not reached 13 years of age.

This is indeed a tragic story. This boy is so young, with a definate bright future ahead of him, and in such a turn of events, passed away just like that. I could experience what the mother had felt when she heard the news. I could imagine how the teacher reacted.

Moral of this story: Treasure your lives, you have this one life only. Shit happens.. better be safe than sorry. People... when crossing the road, please ensure no cars are around, this kind of thing... don't play.

May God bless this boy who is living happily in Heaven now, and protect the family grieving that they will have the strength to continue in their lives and that their love for their son will forever be remembered.
