Goodbye 2005.. hello 2006

It's 01012006. Day one of 2006. Actually it doesn't feel all so special or different. It just feels like any other day. Perhaps now since ya working, you dont quite feel it.. coz to us working people.. it's the same everyday. Just work, work and work. Boring! ha! anyway... this year I spent my NYE @ Ministry of Sound. Let's just say I have mixed feelings for the night. I think the music was great! Darren Emerson rocks and so were the other djs of the night. The rooms were really cool and beautiful, especially the PURE room. I love the white beds and cushions, and of coz the constant change of lights. Studio 54 was nice too, with its dance floor just like Saturday Night fever.

However, i am very, very, very disappointed with how MOS managed crowd control. I think they shld learn a thing or two from Zouk. Because not only the queue was freaky long, but there was only ONE entrance to MOS. Zouk has 3, MOS 1. That's not good when you have hundreds of people queuing to go in. Not only that, their VIP/guestlist and re-entry area seriously need some rework. Zouk, you can just walk in with ya re-entry pass, for MOS, you have to wait. Wtf! We had to squeeze our way in, and shout to the bouncers to tell them we are the ones with the re-entry passes. Some idiots infront weren't and so the bouncers assumed the entire row are people who trying to get in free. Anyway, after 15 mins of screaming and shouting... kev and i managed to get in. Anyway, I dont think i wanna go MOS on special occassions. It's just madness.

But overall, I did have my fun and I guess so did everyone.

Anyway, some thoughts about 2005. Too much happened in 2005. Both in Singapore and in other countries. Again natural disaster (Katrina, earthquakes) happened, we have the NKF saga which is still on-going, sg has our very own 'ray charles/stevie wonder', the hanging of the Australian vietnamese guy, Singapore did well in the Sea Games, and of coz a better economy pick up. To me, these arent' really the highlights of my 2005. My highlight would be my first ever FULL TIME Job. The year I really kinda grew up and be independent (financially). The year that I know I'm enslaved to the working world for life. Through my job, I've learnt new things and how to handle situations and definately people. I know how it feels to have a boss who is terrible and at the same time to have colleagues that I can get along very well with. 2005 was my embarkment to my career, 2006 might be the yr I truly find something I like to do ( or so i really hope).

I think 2005 was truly a yr many would never forget, because so many things happened. I feel that 2006 will be a good year, I just kinda feel the vibes about it being good. I wish everyone a great 2006, let us try to make 2006 as a beautiful year.

Peace!
