This Sunday is X'mas and i dont really feel it. Perhaps as you grow older, the less excited you get over such festive period. But then again, it might be the surroundings. Christmas isn't just about santa claus, presents, the christmas tree.. i think it's definately much more than that. The day Christ entered our lives as Baby Jesus, of coz there must be a greater meaning in Christmas. Perhaps it's the things i see around me that makes me feel X'mas isn't anywhere near. I dunno if it's just us being in Singapore or it's happening everywhere too, I feel sometimes people become the nastiest during festive periods. All that stress about presents, the lack of time or $$, being bothered whether people like the presents or not, what value shld u put on a present for someone. You go orchard road and u see hordes of people , but none u could see the spirit of Christmas. There's no Christmas atmosphere. This yr is just different.
I dont quite feel it in my workplace too. Well, half of my dept is on leave. Those left are still nice but it's the boss. The boss killed it all. I wonder if he knows the true meaning of Christmas at all. The either of giving rather than restricting. He's one guy the whole dept really dislike. He calls himself a christian too. I shall not discrimate further. But is actions and words... oh well.
Anyway, I shld be in a happier mood today since Company declared half day @ work. At least welfare knows we need this short little break too. I'll be on long weekend, so yep.. i believe I'll be a happier person.
One good thing about having a MP3 player ard is that you get to listen to the songs u really love or dig at the moment. Kinda wanna share what songs i'm really into at the moment and surprisingly it ain't really RNB or hip hop.
First up: The Killers "Mr Brightside"
The first time i heard this song was actually months ago when INXS was looking for their Lead singer, and one of the contestants did an unplugged for this song and it sounded so good. I saw the Killer's performances for the VMAs too, and it was fantastic. Thanks to YOUtube I found their MTV. Enjoy peeps, I simply love the tune to this...
Next up has been around for a couple of years, but i still love the beat to this song and it helps with my gym workout: White Stripes: Seven Nation Army
This song is currently being played on the radio stations and it's actually kinda catchy. The MTV is quite raunchy too. Check out The Sugababes: Push the Button
One more: Green Day: When September Ends
Im not much of a Green Day Fan but this song is actually quite nice. Most Live bands in Singapore are able to do a good job singing this too. Most memorable one would be at wala wala when the band sang when September ended and October came.
