2003 AND 2004... WHAT CHANGED?
Tomorrow marks the 1st anniversary of my whole SAM committee 2003-04. Yes.... one year has passed and it's time for us to step down and let new blood take over. Oh my... one year ago... if not for Janelle (whom I met in one of my COM classes) invited myself and alvina to join the SAM committee, I doubt we would be where we are today. However, as i reflect on this past year, I realised so much has changed. People changed, lifestyles changed, friendship changed, environment changed... alot was really different since last year. I've changed... that's for sure or at least the environment ard me.
Well... maybe i shld pay tribute to my 2003-04 SAM colleagues who I've worked with happily for the year. let's start in hierachical order...
Miss Janelle Woo, President of SAM 2003-04.
I believe she's proven herself to be one of the best leaders for SAM. SAM has really flourished, or improved loads through her dedication and hardwork as a President. She is focused and has the will and energy to push the whole committee to work hard. I admire her dedication to her post and to the SAM club, and to the many activities we have had organised. I salute her for her leadership capabilities, and more so her high tolerance to the rest of the committee, especially if we were behind time in our own work. Janelle... I thank you for giving me the chance to work with you and more so to introduce me to many friends who I simply adore and will cherish.
Mr. Danny Ong, Vice-President of SAM 2003-04.
He's DA MAN! That's for sure. His humour and warmth have really brought me back to Singapore each time he speaks hokkien. His role is to maintain the welfare of the club, members and especially the committee members. I must say..he did a great job for that. He may have that funny side of him, but I will always remember him as a big brother who would take care of you no matter what. And of coz I would never forget his AH-BENGness. Thank you for being you.. and thank you for making me feel at home.
Miss Renee Yang, Secretary of SAM 2003-04.
I like this girl. I really do. Honestly, I don't think I've ever had a proper conversation with you, and thus, sad to say I dont think we really know each other that well. But then again, I feel so comfortable around you. I admire alot of things about you. Your attitude, your bitchiness, your adventurous self. I admire you for what you believe in and I admire how good a person you are. You are indeed a fun pal to keep, and I really do wish with whatever time i have left in this country, we will really get to know each other really well.
Mr. Joshua Kan, Treasurer of SAM 2003-04
I wished I knew you better. But I guess there isn't much chances. Josh is one cool dude. You might see him during meetings, you might not, but that doesn't mean he's not doing his work. He's the treasurer for SAM for quite a while. I must thank you for driving myself and danny to the airport the last time round we went back to Singapore. Josh is a helpful guy. Well Josh... hope to see u soon in SG and in JB some time.
Miss Charmaine Wee, Public Relations Officer of SAM 2003-04
I must say.... Charmaine has one of the slightly easier jobs in SAM, but her role is one of the most crucial one. Without her, how would our members know abt our activities and updates? I was so glad to have finally gotten to know u through the SAM elections, if not.. i doubt i'll ever know who Kevin's friend, charmaine wee is. Maybe... i'll just wonder if the girl in the tae bo class is charmaine wee. You are an outstanding person, and with a great personality. But dont always get bullied by Kevin k...
Alvina Seah, Editorial Officer of SAM 2003-04
I'm really happy that Alvina agreed to join in the SAM committee. To think she wasn't interested in joining as a member. She's a great girl, and a really dedicated worker for SAM. She's the one that came up with the greatest designs for the website, the sticker, our logo, namecards, the newsletters and of coz the tee-shirts. Alvina has been my long-time friend. We date back since poly year 1. But it was only in Monash did I know her better and that we became closer as friends. Alvina has always been the one that brought sunshine in the group. She's always friendly with everyone, and she simply gets along well with everyone. I must say.. she is the darling of the whole committee. I adore this lady, and I am sorry for drifting away this year. We were suppose to stay in the same house. I miss the good old times in the halls. Alvina... remember... u are my good friend... :)
Paul Az, Activities Officer of SAM 2003-04
He's the man behind all the activities for SAM. Thanks to him... we have had many successful activities. He holds the most important post in the whole come. Without him, i doubt SAM can ever survive. He makes the club fun and exciting, and of course attractive to join. Paul is really a great guy, and i enjoy working with him in SAM. I am glad to have known u Paul. :)
Okie... that's the whole executive committee. Each of them has contributed a fair share and I believe all our time and energy spent on the club has paid off through the amount of members we have this year, the success of each activity, and most importantly, establishing that strong foundation by getting along well as a committee and definately as friends. The SAM committee would definately be a memorable edition to my life, and I would look back and remember that wonderful time I had with each and everyone in the committee. I hope each of you have had the same experiences as me and that you would remember the times we have spent to build what SAM is today.
